Khenchen Gyaltsen Rinpoche's Long Life and a request.... :)

Dear Sangha -

We are happy to share this information from Tibetan Meditation Center in Maryland about a very special celebration planned for Khenchen Gyaltsen Rinpoche's long life. Drikung Namgyal Ling plans to participate in this upcoming event as fully as we are able. We plan on sending a letter and representative offerings of the Body, Speech, and Mind of the Buddha.

We would also like to send a representative to deliver our offerings if we can manage to do so. We are asking for a donation of frequent flyer miles to help offset the cost of travel. We are a 501c3 organization and this donation is tax deductible.

Thank you so much for your consideration and support.

Warmest Regards,

Pati :)

Subject: Practices to Benefit Khenchen Rinpoche

Dear Dharma Friend:

You are being contacted because of your relationship and close connection with Khenchen Konchog Gyaltshen Rinpoche, the founder and continuing supporter of the Tibetan Meditation Center in Frederick, Maryland as well as numerous other Centers across the U.S. and around the world.

At the conclusion of this year’s Spring Retreat, on June 7, we will be offering a Tenshug to Khenchen Rinpoche. This is a ritual request for the Lama to remain firmly among us and to live long for the benefit of all beings. It is well known now that Rinpoche’s health has been frail the last several years but he continues to expend his diminished energy to teach and to translate for the benefit of all sentient beings. This is a wonderful opportunity for disciples to reaffirm their dedication to this lama’s teachings and advice. The Tengshug presents a unique chance to strengthen your personal and/or your Center’s spiritual bond with Rinpoche, without whom many Centers and practitioners would never have been introduced to the Dharma.

We are encouraging all faithful students of Rinpoche’s and the Centers that he started to make some offering of devotion on this occasion. The most meaningful would be actual attendance by a representative of your Center. If attendance is not possible, then a written statement that could be read at the ceremony would be greatly appreciated. Statements can be emailed to Julie Blair (blairjh4@aol.com) or mailed to her at P.O.Box 37, Boonsboro MD 21713. Finally, if you are moved to make a monetary offering, checks payable to TMC can be mailed to the above address and will be cashed to be included in the cash offering made at the conclusion of the ceremony; checks may also be made payable to Khenchen Rinpoche directly.

In addition, the TMC will hold three days of Amitayus practice on June 4, 5 and 6, again to benefit the strength of Khenchen Rinpoche’s life. Please consider joining us from afar at that time by organizing a special session of Amtayus practice or Lama Chopa at your center or by doing such practices personally.

We look forward to seeing you at the Retreat or hearing from you.

In Dharma,
Julie Blair
TMC Secretary
