A very warm hello to everyone from the Board of Directors at CRSS; it seems that Winter is upon us, but we are very blessed here in Chicago to have such an auspicious teaching coming to us very soon!
We could really use your help for a number of tasks, but we have a BIG need right away, and that's a bed for Rinpche's room. If you have a bed, any size that you could donate or lend to the sangha, we'd really appreciate it. Rinpoche would like to have a nicer set-up for Khenchen while he is in Chicago, staying at the center. Please let Diane know if you can help.
As we all know, it requires a great deal of effort in order to have these events, and we are now asking for volunteers for help in the following areas:
(Please email Diane directly at diane.chicagoratnashri@att.net to volunteer or any questions)
1) Transporting items and setting up the venue and shrine area on Friday evening, November 28th
2) Clean up, take down and transport of items from the venue and shrine area on Sunday evening the 30th immediately after the teachings.
3) Flowers for the venue and shrine and also for Khenchen and Drupon's rooms at the center.
4) Cleaning of the floors, bathrooms, and dusting everything in the dharma center shrine room and common area, prior to Drupon coming out of retreat, which coincides with Khenchen's arrival.
5) Someone to take care of dharma store table and sale of Khenchen's books before start of teachings each day, during tea breaks, lunch breaks and directly after the teaching on Saturday.
6) Tea service; we need 3 more people to help. This includes service for the two Rinpoches, the Anis and the translator, for one teaching session each person. For example, tea service from 9 to 10:30 then someone else does from 10:45 to 12PM and so on...we have one volunteer already.
7) We need one person to assist Sue with registration on Saturday morning, beginning at 8AM.
8) Tea Table for attendees. Keep tea table stocked with hot water, teas, and other refreshments during the event. Refreshements will be provided, the volunteer just keeps it readily available on the table.
Please volunteer and help the sangha; karma yoga earns great merit as does all service work. And of course, if we don't get enough volunteers, we will be asking you!
Thanks!
