Born in 1955 in Bhutan, Gangteng Tulku Rinpoche was acknowledged by H H Dudjom Rinpoche, H H Dilgo Khyenste Rinpoche and H H XVI Karmapa as an incarnation of Pema Lingpa (circa 1500 CE) was one of the five Terton Kings within the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism. He was the incarnation of the great master Longchenpa (1308 - 1363 CE) whose Heart Drop of the Dakini (Khandro Nying-Tik) cycle of teachings is continued on in the Peling Dzogchen lineage. Gangteng Rinpoche spent his early life studying under H H Dudjom Rinpoche, H H Dilgo Khyenste Rinpoche and Je Khempo Tenzin Dhendup and is now responsible for 35 monasteries and retreat centers within Bhutan as well as his growing group of Western students.
