To our Sangha Friends,
Chicago Ratna Shri has been in existence for over 16 years and we are now at a very critical point. As you know, we rely on the generous contributions of our community to sustain the center. Sadly, we cannot currently afford to keep our doors open more than a few short months. We have an urgent need for funds to cover rent, transportation, food costs, and other miscellaneous expenses for our center.
As you know, Drupon Rinchen Dorjee has been our spiritual director for the past four years and it is truly rare and precious for us to have him as our guide. He is currently leading the 3-year retreat at Garchen Institute and will return to Chicago for a few months in November. We hope to be able to host more wonderful teachings and events with him in the future.
There are many good things coming our way. We are excited to welcome Drupon Thinley Ningpo to our center in September. He will be giving a Chod empowerment on September 24th, with Vajrayogini teachings and practice September 25-26. We are also planning to host regular dharma movie nights in the near future. We are working hard and hope to bring you more special events in the future but we seriously risk losing the place that allows us to provide them and desperately ask for any amount that you can give.
