Demonstration in support of Tibet

Dear friends:

On Tuesday, March 18, there will be Massive Demonstration in front of the Chinse Consulate, calling the Chinese government to stop using brute force in Tibet.

The demonstration will start at 10:30 AM at Water Tower, 35 N Michigan Avenue, and proceed with a walk through downtown Chicago to China's Consulate, 100 West Erie. The event will end in the late afternoon.

China's Consulate is on Erie and LaSalle. Grand is the nearest Red Line Stop. Buses running on LaSalle Street are more convenient than buses going on Michigan Avenue.

The Demonstration is organized by Tibetan Alliance of Chicago [registered body of Tibetan Community in Illinois] , Tibetan American Foundation of Minnesota[registered body of Tibetan Community in Minnesota], Wisconsin Tibetan Association [registered body of Tibetan Community in Wisconsin], Regional Tibetan Youth Congress-Minnesota, Students for a Free Tibet-Chicago, Students for a Free Tibet-Minnesota, Minnesota Tibetan Women's Association, and International Tibet Independence Movement, Indiana.

**************************************************
The route planned by the organizers to gain more exposure may not be granted by the Chicago Police, and I must say that, this time commands from the Law Authority are a bit unpredictable. So, if you are not able to join the demonstration at Water Tower, and if you are not able to determine where the demonstrators are, it is best to come to Chinese Consulate.

In response to our email sent on March 14, many friends have responded, for which we thank you very much. We are not able to respond individually in the normal way, because of the number of emails received, and also because of competing claims on our time. We have read all the emails received yesterday and today. The following notes will answer individual questions, and also inform others.

It is for an individual to determine where you get the news. Mainly, time is the essence. If you get the time, please visit all the sites we sent in our email of March 14. To get latest news from Tibet, it is best to visit Phayul. Tibetans in Tibet call Voice of America and Radio Free Asia, but it is more convenient to visit Phayul.

BBC and CNN are late in getting news from Tibet. Phayul is able to get faster. But, BBC and CNN are great with interviews and updates. So, please visit BBC and CNN latest nutshell information.

After Phayul, visiting web site of the organizers of the March to Tibet will not only give the reports, actions, etc.
TRUTH PREVAILS

Please watch videos or listen. Search under Tibet will pull up fresh news.

Since things are worsening in Tibet, there will be more demonstrations in Chicago. For upcoming demonstrations, please visit, www.TIBETgift.com under Latest News. Tibet Demonstration/CHICAGO.

TIBETgift remains closed on Tuesday, March 18.

We are sending out another email this evening, which will answer some other questions.

It is difficult to send emails to a large list. Since we have had recurring problems with AOL, we have decided to switch over to Gmail.
